OMG (G for GOSH, jloh) I WAS EATING THERE WITH JONSOH THE OTHER DAY! haha nvm next time i'll go to the Paragon branch XD Supervisor was apparently knifed by cook in kitchen while customers dined outside By Nur Dianah Suhaimi Mar 11, 2007 The Straits Times A COOK allegedly killed his boss with a single knife wound to the back in the kitchen of a Raffles City restaurant last night while customers dined outside. The kitchen supervisor, a 25-year-old Singaporean man, died within minutes of the attack at The Soup Spoon eatery. The 60 or so customers in the basement restaurant were quickly ushered out by the staff. Detectives arrived at 7.15pm and found the cook in the kitchen, sitting in a daze beside his supervisor's body. The 43-year-old Chinese national, who was arrested, had apparently pulled the knife out of the victim's body and put it on a kitchen table. It is not clear how many workers were present in the kitchen - the size of an HDB flat bedroom - at the time of the stabbing. They had apparently been quarrelling over a work-related matter but employees declined to say what the dispute was about. There were 10 staff members in the restaurant at the time. A woman, believed to be the victim's sister, was crying at the Thai Express restaurant next door. She declined to be interviewed. Two women who had been sitting in a blind corner of The Soup Spoon were missed by the waiters when other customers were ushered out. They were left wondering why the restaurant had suddenly emptied, but stayed on to finish their meal. One of them, who gave her name only as Miss Sim, said: 'I sensed something fishy when I noticed everyone leaving suddenly. But we didn't know what was going on.' Eventually, a waiter told them they also had to leave. When Miss Sim asked why, he replied: 'Something terrible has happened here.' The body was removed at around 10.45pm. In another case last Wednesday, a 35-year-old driver died a few hours after a fight outside a nightclub at One Fullerton. Five men have been charged with murder. |
